Happy Birthday Memaw!

Today is Memaw's birthday and she would have been 67 years old. I miss her so much, but there is definitely comfort in knowing that she is in heaven having the BEST birthday celebration she has ever had. I would be lying if I said that I don't get sad when I think about her, but it doesn't take long for me to get happy again when I think of all of the wonderful, happy memories I have of her. I am so thankful for those!! Here are a few of my favorites:

-I remember the year Memaw thought it would be fun to try and make some homemade ravioli. So, she found a recipe, bought the ingredients, and started her ravioli making adventure. Little did she know, the recipe made enough ravioli for a small army. Memaw, Pepaw, Brandi and I made ravioli for DAYS, true story!!! We had flour everywhere!!! We worked on those things for days at a time... we would stuff, fold, and seal them with a fork...stuff, fold, seal with a fork...and again, and again. We were exhausted and probably a little delirious when it was all over. We always got a good laugh when we thought about our ravioli boot camp...we had enough ravioli to last the whole next year!!

-I can never forget our many trips to Florida. There are too many details and too many stories to try to narrow them down to favorites. We spent many summers at the Blue Tide and the Latitude 29 in Panama City Beach, Florida. From honking as we drove through "the tunnel" on the road trip down, to the sandcastles on the beach, to the yummy seafood dinners and our crab hunts at night...we had a blast on all of our Florida vacations!!

-God couldn't have blessed me with a better Memaw!! She was so much more than that though...some of her other roles consisted of...
- judge of my Barbie beauty pageants
- great puzzle partner
- one of the best back scratchers ever :) (I am still spoiled to this day!!!)
- hair and make-up artist when I decided to dress up in mom's old formal dresses
- fabulous cook...talk about delicious homemade soup, mac and cheese, lasagna, hush puppies, the list goes on and on!!!
- winner of the most contagious laugh award
- #1 supporter on the sidelines of our basketball games, choir recitals and baseball games
- And SO much more!!

She was definitely a very special lady who is greatly missed by so many people. I know I will always miss her, but I also know that I will never forget the wonderful times we shared!! So, here's to Memaw on her 67th birthday...she will have a special place in my heart forever!!!
